Nonprofit for new media approaches
Schnellinger and Willard have long supported efforts to raise the standards in media. Their work with NearMedia and before has always highlighted raising the bar and making explicit the best practices that previously went undocumented.
Because their interests cut across education, public information, and the arts, they decided to found a nonprofit charitable organization specifically for this cause of high standards in those areas of media.
Verista was incorporated in 2012 and renamed in 2015. Its slogan, “Truth from New Perspectives,” expresses the belief that creativity and learning, when informed by high standards, work together to give a fuller picture of reality.
It is a tax-exempt charity with 501(c)3 status.
