Coverage of Afghanistan’s first presidential elections
In the year of Afghanistan’s first presidential elections, Schnellinger created a team of Afghan journalism trainers, and led efforts to train dozens of journalists across the country. She worked with them to survey voters and produce pre-election radio and print coverage for national distribution, and conducted nationwide pool coverage of the election itself.
These projects were done in concert with the startup of Pajhwok Afghan News, but involved other reporters and editors working for a large variety of news outlets.
