In my six years on the board of this nonprofit, I have led the implementation of technology solutions for communications and administration.

In technology and communications, I:

  • Oversaw the development of the PACA website and have been its administrator since 2010.
  • Wrote the editorial policy for the website
  • Trained authors and editors how to contribute content
  • Added online membership signup functionality, monitored and reported on analytics, and contributed much of the site’s content, including live coverage of the Jasper ArtsFest, an integrated events calendar and dynamic visual elements.
  • Worked with other organizations and individuals to develop a community-wide events calendar and monthly newsletter
  • Established PACA’s presence online via social media.
  • Organized a Google Drive document collection and trained volunteers on how to work with collaborative documents.
  • Registered PACA for important online services and maintained the annual record-keeping: PayPal, the federal grants system, state corporate registration and IRS 990 submissions.

Administratively:

  • Led the board during a period of turmoil after the previous board president returned a grant to the state in contradiction of the board’s instruction.
  • Stabilized the organization and created a work plan to compensate for the funding loss.
  • Made key contributions to bylaws revisions, grant applications, and the strategic plan.
  • Headed the marketing and communications committee in organizing a channel for Pickens artists and groups to get publicity through local, regional and state media.
  • Developed a directory (print and online) of arts and culture individuals and organizations.
